Sechelt Is Plugged In!
The 4th Annual Sechelt Electric Vehicle Festival held on Sept. 15th was a huge success with over 1,000 people taking the opportunity to meet owners and admire the latest in automotive transportation.
An outstanding 45 electric cars joined the event, including all mjor EV modes in production currently! All Tesla models, including the new Model 3, were in attendance as were Chevy Bolt and Volt models, Fiat 500s, Kia Souls, BMW i3s, Nissan Leafs, Ford Focus EV, Mitsubisi Outlanders and MiEV’s and more. In addition, an electric motorcycle was on display as well as a prototype vehicle from Lang Labs. Several residents enjoyed the show while riding their electric scooters!
Owners came from all parts of the Coast, Vancouver and as far away as Minnesota. Test drives on electric scooters were a big hit.
One of the highlights of the festival was the Tesla Model X “dance” which is hidden in the computer system of the car and, when activated, plays music, flashes lights and flaps the falcon wing doors. Quite a show! (Check it out on our Facebook Page at Sechelt Electric Vehicle Festival!)

Sechelt’s Annual EV Festival occurs every September as part of the International Drive Electric Week which promotes the role of electric vehicles in the fight against climate change. It aims to connect EV owners from around the world.
