Event Report
We gave a fairly technical presentation highlighting the advantages of electric cars. One person who attended was the sustainability director for the City of Las Cruces. Base on her input, we are planning a lobbying campaign to get the City to start adding electric cars to its fleet.

Event Description
For this month's open meeting, we will focus on specific actions that individuals can take to improve the climate. The main presentation will be given by John Gilkison. Mr. Gilkison is a local author, environmental advocate, and amateur astronomer. He been a blogger for EV World (a online magazine, evworld.com) for the last 12 years writing about energy issues, aerodynamics, electric vehicles, and environmental issues generally.
In this talk, we will examine the rationale for the purchase of an electric car. Other topics will include steps to take to reduce household use of energy.
