National Drive Electric Month is around the corner, with hundreds of events across North America to promote electric vehicles. The Comox Valley Electric Vehicle Association will hold our signature “Move2Electric” Show ‘n Shine on Sunday, September 14th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  This year we will be at the Comox Exhibition Grounds on Headquarters Road.

Come and sign up on site to drive all-electric SUVs, cross-overs, pickup trucks, and sedans from Ford, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Toyota, VW, and perhaps new entrants to the electric vehicle (EV) market such as VinFast.  Take any of a dozen electric bicycles on quiet paths along the Tsolum River, and feel the effortless pedalling.  Listen in to speakers explaining how reliable and low maintenance EVs are, how to charge, how EV batteries are made and recycled, how much it costs to “fill up” an EV at home ($7-$10!), how solar energy can reduce this cost closer to zero, how easy and comfortable both long-distance rides and transcontinental road trips are, and how electric transportation can help save our planet.

Thirty to forty longtime EV owners and their “rides”—including Audis, Jaguars, Fords, Kias, Hyundais, VWs, GM, Rivians, and every model of Tesla—will be there to show and talk about what's available.

The Comox Valley Electric Vehicle Association is hosting this event, which has in past years attracted as many as 1,400 people.  Across North America, a half million people will attend 300-350 similar car shows to promote a greener and better future.
